About the artist

I photograph the city I call home.

I’m Eric Petersen, a Chicago-based fine art photographer. I photograph the city’s architecture, streets, river, and lakefront.

I wait for the light, weather, and architecture to align. Some photographs come from returning to a familiar spot. Others happen when someone or something passes through at the right moment.

I make prints and take on custom commissions for homes, workplaces, hospitality spaces, designers, and collectors. I’ve partnered with Virgil Catherine, Jackson Junge, and Lizzie Selle, and my work is held in private collections across Chicago.
